  • The game between the Pratt Community College Lady Beavers and NW Tech (Goodland) was decided in the paint.  Post players Ashari Broadwater and Elle Stein combined for 27 points to lead Pratt to a solid 74-52 win over the visiting Lady Mavericks Tuesday night.
In addition to dominating inside scoring, PCC also controlled the glass, outrebounding their foes 56-33. Broadwater had a double-double, as she led PCC with 14 rebounds. Many of those boards were of the offensive variety, and the Beavers tallied 19 points off  of Windex buckets.
PCC head coach Stephanie Thompson had a deeper bench than her opponent, and utilized it effectively. All fourteen players on the roster saw minutes, and all but one broke into the scoring column. The bench contributed 36 points compared to 9 bench points for Tech.
With the scoring so spread out, Broadwater and Stein were the only Lady Beavers in double figures, but Hayli Smith had 9, Maddie Pendry 7 and Kelsey Strobel and Kari Devlin each added 6.
Pratt led at halftime 41-23 and cruised in the second half, outscoring the Tech 33-29 to account for the 74-52 final.
With the win, PCC improves to 7-3 on the season. Next up will be a visit from Lamar as the Lady Beavers will try to avenge a pre-Thanksgiving defeat.
