  • The Tribune welcomes Lisa Cromer-Miller as advertising manager, effective Feb. 4, a position she also held in 2000.
She and husband Charles Miller left Pratt in 2004. In the interim, she has completed a Master of Business Administration degree at Friends University and the couple has gained grandchildren.
She worked in student services at Cowley College and before that was treasurer, assistant city clerk and municipal court clerk in Oxford.
"We wanted to come back to a real town that has many things to offer — a hospital, a Walmart, great places to eat, and of course, to be closer to a grandbaby," Cromer-Miller commented.
Her husband is an oilfield mechanic and roustabout for Berexco LLC.
Returning to the Tribune was an easy choice.
"It is a great place to work," she said. "I love the people, the challenges and the excitement. It gives me a chance to visit with people I know and help them with their advertising needs."
She already has a full promotions calendar for February and said she is always looking for new ideas.
"I would love for people to offer suggestions," Cromer-Miller encouraged.
In addition to its print advertising, GateHouse Media has made growing online sales a focus for 2013.
The Tribune's online audience is as big as its print audience, Cromer-Miller said.
"One of the things we pride ourselves on is we don't just deliver readers any more, we deliver audiences," she said, adding that the Tribune's combined audience — print, online and on social media sites — is bigger than it has been in the past 20 years.
Cromer-Miller is a graduate of Pratt Community College and is also a licensed Kansas real estate agent.
