  • The Pratt High School junior varsity tennis team took the courts at Walter Blake Complex on Tuesday for their initial tournament of the season.
It was not a balmy day— as attire worn by players in the accompanying photo will attest, but players from five schools persevered against the elements to complete the event that was won by Great Bend. Conway Springs took second, Pratt third, Dodge City fourth and Chaparral fifth.
Sophomore Matt Loomis had a nice start to his season, taking first place in #1 singles. Juniors David Parmar and Evan Fowler teamed up to capture 3rd place in #1 doubles.
JVs will take the courts again next Tuesday at Sterling, 3 p.m. while the varsity will host their own Invitational Thursday March 28 at Walter Blake Tennis Complex starting at 3 p.m.
