A westbound vehicle slid off the highway and struck a power pole sending a Wichita woman to the hospital.
A Wichita Woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident on the west side of Pratt County.
Gailene Elliott, 49 of Wichita, was westbound on U.S. 54 at 140th Avenue in a 1999 Chevy Lumina when she lost control, slid across the road and though the ditch and crashed sideways on the drivers side into a power pole in the south ditch, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol on-line crash log site.
The car whipped around after the collision and was facing east when it came to rest.
Pratt County Rescue assisted Pratt County EMS in getting out of Elliott from the passenger side because the drivers side was heavily damaged.
Elliott, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center. The accident was reported about 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2.
