Charles W. Detwiler, age 75, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Hospice of Arizona in Mesa, Ariz. He was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Pratt, the son of Homer and Martha Faye (Pinkston) Detwiler. On Nov. 3, 1990 he married Kathleen L. Capell at Pratt.
Charles was a member of the Sonrise Assembly of God in Gilbert, Ariz. He was a field inspector for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; four brothers, Don Detwiler, John Detwiler, and Homer Detwiler, all of Pratt and Jimmy Detwiler of Valley Center; a sister, Mary Turner of Wichita; a stepsister, Midge Adams of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Diane Brinsing and a stepsister, Ragena Shaver.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 12, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sonrise Assembly of God, Gilbert Ariz., Hospice of Arizona, or Pratt Area Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
