  • With the school year coming to an end, Skyline School students and staff members are getting ready for the fourth annual school carnival.
The carnival will be held throughout the school building on May 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The carnival is being organized by Skyline kindergarten teacher Joyce Temanson. Helping Temanson put on the carnival are volunteering staff members, parents and middle school and high school students.
"I'm relieved to have help from the school and parents," Temanson said.
Students will be able to purchase tickets where they can enjoy over 27 different activities. Some of the activities that will be available are bowling, Angry Birds, car bashing and button making.
"I'm excited to bounce in the bouncey house," first grader Chase Robinson said.
Students and parents will also be able to purchase ice cream that the T-Bird Club will be selling.
At the end of the carnival over 20 different raffle baskets will be awarded to people with the winning tickets. Some of the baskets being raffled are a Kansas City Vacation basket, an iPad Mini basket and a Playstation 3 basket.
For a chance to win one of the baskets, raffle tickets are being sold by Skyline students or people are welcomed to stop by the front office or call the school at 620-672-5651 to purchase tickets. All the money raised will go towards the purchase of new school supplies for the classrooms.
"Everyone is welcomed to come to Skyline and participate in the carnival fun," Temanson said.
Tony Marquez is a senior at Skyline School.
