  • Richard L. Hinnen, 63, passed away Sunday June 16, 2013 at South Wind Hospice. Born Nov. 26, 1949, to Maxine and Kenneth Hinnen, he is survived by wife Sharon G.; children Amanda (Charles) Roubidoux, Bryan L Hinnen (+1); two stepsons, Jimmie and Ryan (Shelly) Koontz and families; sister, Kathy (Hinnen) McWilliams; brother Terry (Connie) Hinnen; and grandchildren, Garland, Charlie, Alissa and Alexis.
Dick was a life long Butler County resident, raised on a farm near Towanda and an active 4-H'er. He was an exceptional athlete. He set track records at Butler Community College. He was an avid skier, both water and snow. There was not a boat wake or snowy mountain he wouldn't tackle. Some might say "Dare Devil" when they talk about Dick and skiing. Construction, building and remodeling were his passion and it served him throughout his life as he helped family and friends by donating his time and talent.
At his request there will not be a service, but a celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday June 20 at Fulton Valley Farms. Please bring memories to share. Memorial donations can be made to the Ollie & Gay Scholarship for Track & Field with the Butler County Community College Foundation.
