Donald Lamont Williams, 82, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Deseret Health and Rehab in Pratt. He was born Dec. 30, 1930, on a farm west of Tyrone, Okla., the son of Earl and Opal (Crecelius) Williams. He graduated from Tyrone High School in 1949. He went to work for the Rock Island Railroad two weeks after graduation and retired 43 1/2 years later.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars, both in Pratt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Schmidt, Pratt, and Donna Baker, Greensburg; a son, Bryan Williams, Plano, Texas; two brothers, Thomas, Liberal, and James "Sammy" Williams, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Adam Baker, Kristin Schmidt, Austin Schmidt, Reid Williams, Cole Williams, Caleb Schmidt, Ella Williams, and Joshua Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Frank and Elizabeth Beck; a brother Ralph; and a grandson, Nathan Baker.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Thursday, July 4, at the First Christian Church, Pratt, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
