Joseph H. Youngers, 78, died Aug. 27, 2013, at Deseret Health and Rehab of Pratt.
He was born Oct. 21, 1934, at Willowdale, the son of Frank and Josephine R. Bohrer Youngers. He was a 50-year resident of Pratt, moving from Kingman in 1963. He was a maintenance supervisor for Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for 35 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt.
On Aug. 12, 1961, he married Sandra Cole at Kingman. She survives, at Pratt.
Other survivors include: a son, Gregory and wife Lynda, Murphy, Texas; two daughters, Janet Cowen, Andover, and Carolyn Youngers, Pratt; two brothers, Julius and Elmer, both of Kingman; three sisters, Alice Burenheide, Sharon, Mary Rose Eck, Cheney, and Theresa Elpers, Kingman; four grandchildren, Alyson and Riley Youngers and Kelsey and Kaitlyn Cowen; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Herman, Louis, Harold, Robert, Paul and James; and three sisters, Helen Gahlen, Frances Youngers and Genevieve Miller.
Vigil service is at 7 p.m. Friday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary. Funeral mass is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, with the Rev. Floyd McKinney presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
