A Pratt man was injured following a two-vehicle accident Monday evening on east First Street.
Injured in the accident was Wallace McElyea, 64 of Pratt.
The accident occurred when McElyea was westbound on east First between Curtis and Champa in a 2005 Ford Escape and attempted to make a left turn into a carwash driveway on the south side of the street.
It was just before 7 p.m. and the sun was low in the sky. McElyea failed to see an eastbound 1988 Encounter motor home driven by 70-year-old Marshall Hopkins of Hooker, Okla., said Pratt Police Officer Danny Gimpel.
The Escape hit the right front of the Encounter causing extensive damage to the front of the Escape and a little damage to the motor home. The Escape to rest facing south across both east bound lanes while the motor home stopped on the carwash lot.
Pratt County EMS transported McElyea to Pratt Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Hopkins and his passenger, Pai Chin Chi, 33 of Taiwan, were not injured in the accident.
