  • The Pratt High School volleyball team took care of business Tuesday at Larned, winning both ends of a triangular against Nickerson and the host Indians.
Scores against Nickerson were 25-16; 25-16. The Greenback front line was a killing machine against the Lady Panthers. Jaci Kolm was 3/3 on spikes. Destani Garten went 4/6 and Jenson Maydew was 5/8.
Against Larned, Lady Green prevailed 25-14; 25-15. Pacing the Greenback effort were Lauren Rambat who scored a pair of service aces, and Jaci Kolm was again perfect on kill attempts, going 4/4.
“The things we struggled with last weekend (at the Lyons tournament) were much improved,” reported PHS head coach Shelby Nesbit. “Our serving, hitting and defensive coverage were a lot better.”
“We played as a team and forced both our opponents into a lot of out of system play,” Nesbit analyzed. “When passes are stuck to Jaci (Kolm), her sets are right on to the hitters, who are then able to make good connections and pound away at the ball. The girls are a lot of fun to watch when these good things are happening.”
Greenback fans will get to watch the volleyball team next Tuesday October 8 as they host a triangular with Haven and Lyons beginning at 5 p.m.
