  • In a 23-5 season, there aren’t going to be very many off-nights. But that’s just what Lady Green suffered through Tuesday at Sterling in a CKL triangular with Hesston and the host Black Bears.
Pratt began the night losing to Sterling 25-21; 19-25; 23-25. “Sterling had big blocks that we weren’t ready for,” explained PHS head coach Shelby Nesbit. “We really struggled with communication, getting our block up at the same time. Sterling came out strong and ready to play and we could never really get going.”
In the nightcap, Lady Green fell to Hesston 22-25; 19-25. “I was proud of the way the girls fought back against Hesston after struggling against Sterling,” Nesbit said. “We were up on them both sets and let them creep back in. Their tip and roll-shots killed us.”
“Overall, it was a very disappointing and frustrating evening of play,” Nesbit continued.  “Our mistakes killed us. We beat ourselves tonight. We have to move forward from tonight. We will be fine but need to take it one team at a time. We have to focus more in practice about what we can control and perfect.”
