A High Plains Cotton Gin employee was injured Thursday morning when he fell into a piece of equipment and his leg was caught.

A High Plains Cotton Gin employee remains hospitalized at a Wichita hospital following an accident Thursday morning at the gin on the east side of Cullison.

Franklin Betcher, 49 of Frederick, Okla., is listed in fair condition at Wesley Medical Center.

Betcher was injured Thursday morning after he fell into a piece of machinery and his leg was caught, said Pratt County Undersheriff Jimmy White.

Pratt County EMS, Rescue, Cullison Firefighters and Sheriff's officers were called to the scene at 8:27 a.m. It took about an hour for rescue personnel to free Betcher. A Life Team helicopter landed in a wheat field just south of the gin and transported Betcher to Wesley Medical Center.

No other information about the accident has been released at this time.
