Christopher Lee Nenninger, 36, of Leavenworth, died in his sleep, Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. He was born on Nov. 21, 1977, in Fort Knox, Ky., the son of Alan H. and Carol A. (Frentzel) Nenninger.
Chris grew up in a military family giving him the opportunity to see different parts of the country to include Albany, N.Y., Tampa, Fla. and Montgomery, Ala., before arriving in Leavenworth in 1985.
He received his education in the Leavenworth parochial school system and graduated from Immaculata High School with honors in 1996. Chris went on to attend the University of Kansas majoring in computer technology and engineering.
Chris is survived by his father, a brother, Brett (Valerie) Nenninger; a grandfather, Melvin Frentzel; and two nieces, Maddy Nenninger and Reilly Nenninger.
He is preceded in death by his mother and three grandparents, Ann Frentzel, Al and Gertrude Nenninger.
He was currently employed at the American Teleconferencing Services in Olathe, Kan. as a member of their technical services team. Chris was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, M.E.N.S.A. and the Knights of Columbus.
He loved to travel and took many trips throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe with his family and friends. He especially loved visiting his two nieces in Seattle, Wash.
Chris was a loving son and will be missed by everyone who shared in his life.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant.
