A Wichita man, Arturo Garcia-Olivas, 23 of Wichita, was arrested Tuesday morning when he threatened his fellow workers and said he had a gun.
A Wichita man was arrested Tuesday morning in Pratt after an altercation at the Best Western Hotel construction site where the man threatened the other workers and said he had a gun.
Arturo Garcia-Olivas, 23 of Wichita, was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers were called to the scene at 9:01 a.m. at 112 NE K-61 to the report of a disgruntled construction worker who, in a fit of rage over his wages, threatened other members of the crew and told them he had a gun, said Pratt Police Sgt. Kent Wyatt.
When officers arrived, they found several individuals. They were all held at gunpoint until it was determined that none of them was armed and they were all released.
When officers searched Garcia-Olivas, who was reported to have a gun, they found items suspected to be illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession, Wyatt said.
Garcia-Olivas was placed under arrest for possession of those things.
Further investigation failed to find any firearms or anyone who directly saw a firearm.
