  • Robert L. “Bob” Cook, 86, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt. He was born June 29, 1927, on the family farm near Agra, Okla., the son of Clarence and Dora Belle (Honea) Cook.
    He had served as a medic in the Army Air Corps from 1945-46. When Bob retired from Ninnescah Rural Electric Co., he started his own company, Fonco Electric. He was a member of the Glendale United Methodist Church, American Legion Post No. 98 of Isabel, Kilwinning Masonic Lodge No. 265 of Pratt, Wichita Scottish Rite, Midian Shrine of Wichita, and B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 1451 of Pratt. He had served as past grand master of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge in Pratt.
    On June 14, 1948 he married Fontella I. Helsel at Dalhart, Texas. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2008.
    He is survived by a son, Don and Mary Cook of Medicine Lodge; a daughter, Cynthia and Larry Wilson of Greenfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rosena Helsel of Great Bend, and Twiella Daugherty of Fortuna, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Ray Cook and a sister, Evelyn Cook.
    Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the mortuary with John Hamm presiding. Burial will be in Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
