  • In the last conference series of the season, the Beavers came up short in all 4 games against the Barton County Cougars.
    On Friday night, the Beavers lost the opening game of the series 9-3. Gaige Webster was 3-5 with 2 doubles. BJ Dean was 2-3 including a double, and Nolan Rush was 2-4. Tyler Huffstickler took the loss on the mound throwing 5.2 innings. Huffstickler allowed 7 runs on 5 hits, 5 walks, and 6 strikeouts.
    Barton beat Pratt 9-8 and 11-10 in Saturday’s double header. Justin Crouch had an incredible day going 5-8 with 2 doubles, a home run, and drove in 5 runs. Trey Trahan was 4-8 on the day with a pair of doubles. Scott Alvarez and Aaron Berenson had 3 hits on the day. Evan Payne started the first game for the Beavers and allowed 6 runs in 3 innings of work on 5 walks and 2 hits. Clayton Blanks, Jacob Spruill, and Brandon Horne appeared in the game. Horne took the loss in the 8th inning. Cameron Clements was the starter for PCC in the second game. He lasted 3.2 innings allowing 7 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks, and 6 strike outs. Brad Honeycutt came into the game in the 4th inning with two outs and finished the game but took the loss in the 8th inning. Honeycutt allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and one strikeout.
    Barton completed the sweep on Sunday afternoon by a score of 20-16. 5 different batters in the Pratt lineup hit home runs including Trahan, Crouch, Alvarez, Austin Resser, and Rush. Trahan and Crouch both had 4 RBI. Crouch and Taylor Graf had 2 doubles. Starting pitcher Corey Mondello pitched 2.2 innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
    The Beavers final game of the season is on Tuesday April 29 at Judd Stanion Field at 4:00.
