  • Charles M. Houser, 85, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt. He was born May 6, 1928 in Anthony, the son of Charles Raymond and Reva Helen (Carter) Houser.
    He was a laborer for Cross Manufacturing in Pratt. After he retired, Charlie performed yard and home maintenance for many residents of the Pratt community.
    On December 24, 1981 he married Gladys L. Jacobs in Pratt. She died June 7, 2004.
    Survivors include a son David (Kim) Houser, Vassar; a stepdaughter, Jo Leann Colborn, Medicine Lodge; a sister, Betty May Lewis, Bartlesville, Okla.; five grandchildren, Nicole Houser Meneley, David Houser Jr., Charles Houser, Melissa Anderson, and Marc Houser; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, George Houser; and two sisters, Glen Doris Keller and Phyllis Jean Houser a stepdaughter, Joy Louise Harrison
    Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 8th at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, with John Havens presiding.
