Spencer Sullivan shot 93 to pace the Greenbacks. Tyler Skaggs was right behind him at 94, and Hunter Walker posted 95. Rounding out the scoring for PHS was Dakota Hankins with 117. Logan Chadd also played varsity, carding a 132.
In JV action, Dalton Prosser posted 121, Robert Ford 132 and David Schotte 160.
“It was a tough day for us,” head coach Steve Landry admitted. “Spencer had a pretty solid front nine, but about halfway through his back nine things began to break down and he struggled finishing the back nine.”
“Tyler’s putting woes continued this tournament,” Landry continued. “Again he struck the ball a lot better than his score indicates. Putting will be a major focus as we prepare for our next tournament. I look for Spencer and Tyler both to rebound next week.”
Coach Landry was pleased with the progress of his third and fourth golfers. “Hunter and Dakota shot their best rounds of the season, so their games are heading in the right direction,” Landry observed. “Both need to continue to improve over the next two tournaments as we get ready for league and regionals.”
The Greenback linksters play next at Halstead on Tuesday May 6.
