Prentiss Whited Sr., 82, died June 28, 2014, in Pratt. He was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Hominy, Okla., to Farris Sigmon Whited and Lilliemae Kendrick Whited. He was an oilfield driller and was of the Episcopal faith.
On May 8, 1955, he married Patience Delilah Brown at Great Bend. She preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2007.
Survivors include: a son, Prentiss Lee Whited and wife Brenda; a daughter, Tammy Thimesch; siblings, Farris and Jean Whited, Van Buren, Ark., Frank Whited, Pawhuska, Okla., Jerrel and Lee Whited, Walla Walla, Wash., and Jeanie and husband Dan Curtis, Fairview, Texas; five grandchildren, Trenton, Brendon and Nicholas Whited, Kelly Ann Renner and Amy Brown; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by Clifford, Kenneth and Leon Whited and Fern Roberson.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. July 3 at Hominy, Okla. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery, Hominy.
