PRATT — Erma Pauline Bryan, 97, passed away May 9, 2017 at the South Wind Home in Pratt, Kansas. She was born June 13, 1919 to James Paul Roberts and Mary Belle (Thompson) Roberts in Cowley County, Kansas. In 1927 she moved with her family to Pratt County. She graduated from high school and worked for many local families before her marriage.
She married Willis T. Bryan on May 12, 1939 and was a homemaker her entire life. Her husband passed away May 8, 1990.
She is survived by one son Paul D. (Debbie) Bryan, Pratt, Kansas; and one brother Carl P. Roberts, Houston, Texas. Other survivors include sisters-in-law Dorothy Roberts of Pratt, and Molly Roberts of Phoenix, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. She has two grandchildren: Brittani Bryan-Estrada and Shane Bryan, and one great-grandchild: Lilly Gaston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers Johnnie, Howard, Elmo and Merle Roberts, and three sisters Lula Greenstreet, Vada Kinsey and Mary Cummings.
The family will hold a private memorial service at noon on Sunday May 28, 2017 at the Coats Cemetery, Coats, Kansas, with minister James Wheeler, her nephew, presiding. Burial will take place at the Coats Cemetery. Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, 115 E. Fourth, Pratt, Kansas 67124, is handling the arrangements.
