Madeline A. Teufel, 76, Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Madeline (Maggie) was born April 6, 1941, in Hinton, OK, the daughter of Velma (Whitacre) and Edward Hall.

Madeline was a member of the Homestead Friends Church, Clements, KS.

On January 1, 1961, Madeline married her soul mate, Marvin Teufel, who she met when she was in 4th grade.

In 1961, Madeline started working at Central Kansas Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) through 1968. Next, she worked a year and a half at St. Francis Health Center (Wichita, KS). Madeline took a Director of Nursing position at Northview Manor (McPherson, KS) from 1976-79. Madeline accepted her first position as Nursing Home Administrator in Winfield, KS in 1980. In 1981, Madeline accepted the Nursing Home Administrator position for Florence Health Care (Florence, KS). She spent 15 years as the administrator in Florence. Madeline was promoted to Regional Director of Compliance overseeing 4 homes in 1996, and then promoted again to Executive Director overseeing 20+ homes in 5 states. She spent 26 years with Regency Healthcare with the last two positions as a crucial member of their leadership team.

Madeline’s other full-time career was raising 3 sons. Madeline’s husband and her family were her whole world, but her heart was big enough to adopt a host of others into her life.

Survivors include; husband - Marvin Teufel of Topeka, KS; three sons – Jonathan (Jon) and Michele Teufel of Kansas City, KS, William (Will) and Theresa Teufel of Nickerson, KS, Marvin (Marty) and Heather Teufel of Topeka, KS; 5 grandchildren – Ashley, Christian, Grace, Jordan, and Mallory; two great grandchildren – Evan and Logan; 2 brothers– Ron and Sherri Hall of Arkansas City, KS and Edward and Joyce Hall of Houston, TX; 1 sister – Katie Keyser of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Madeline was proceeded in death by her parents Velma and Edward Hall; a brother Jack Hall; two sisters Nona Brunger and Nina Darrow.

Memorial Service will be held at Pratt Friends Church, Pratt, Kansas at 10am on Saturday, June 24, 2017, followed by a graveside service at Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge.
