A new online Central Kansas Virtual Job Fair provides openings and information about all types of employment opportunities.

Pratt Regional Medical Center's participation in the Central Kansas Virtual Job Fair meets two goals for the hospital. First, it allows them to broadly advertise specialty positions available that need applicants with specific qualifications, like doctors, registered nurses or upper level management, and second, it provides an inexpensive avenue of communication with the local community about a wide-range of positions open for employment.

"We have openings here that someone local might not even be aware of," said PRMC Community Relations Manager Andie Dean. "Potential employees can go online and see the opportunities listed, along with the qualifications, and they can apply right from the comfort of their own home."

The online virtual job fair is a multi-media consortium presented by the Hutch News, the McPherson Sentinel, the Newton Kansan, the Salina Journal, and the Pratt Tribune. Even though all areas covered by these newspapers will be listing job openings, it is the local prospects that Dean hopes will open up to the opportunities.

"We have positions open for a medical records clerk, a patient financial counselor, housekeeping, schedule coordinator and certified surgical technologist, plus many more," she said.

Dean also said details for those positions, and for the specialized openings, like registered nurses were easily accessed in the PRMC "booth" at the online job fair.

"We were able to set up our own station online where we share pictures, logos, documents like benefit packages and standards of performance that we expect," she said. "This should make applying for a job so much easier and just gives potential employees a good look at what we are all about.

To take part in the virtual job fair, people need to register online at http://centralkansas.vfairs.com or call 1-800-766-5781. Job opportunities from across central Kansas are listed as part of the online event scheduled for Thursday, June 22.
