A Pratt women, Sheralee Windham, received minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident at First and Pine just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The accident occurred when 81-year-old Norma Becker was westbound on First Street in a 2016 Honda, stopped to allow traffic to clear then made a left turn onto South Pine in front of an eastbound 2002 red Ford pickup driven by Windham, said Pratt Police Cpl. Mike McAbee.
Windham tried to avoid the collision but there was not enough room and the right front finder of the pickup struck the right rear quarter panel of the Honda, damaging the panel and tearing off the bumper cover. The impact set off side airbags in the Honda.
Pratt County EMS transported Windham to Pratt Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released. Becker and her passenger, 85-year-old Shirley Ibeawuchi, both refused transport. Windham, Becker and Ibeawuchi were all wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
