John “Chris” Bertoglio, 61, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Medicine Lodge, KS.

He was born on August 15, 1956 in Medicine Lodge, KS, the son of Jan (Brosius) Bertoglio of Medicine Lodge, KS and the late Albert James “Jim” Bertoglio. 

Chris was a photographer. He and his dad, Jim, photographed various ranches throughout the United States and wrote a book called “The Vanishing Cowboy.”  Chris attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He was a member of the Medicine Lodge Presbyterian Church.

Chris was also in the real estate business and built the apartments on Curry Lane in Medicine Lodge.  He also worked with his father in the family business, Lodge Chevrolet, in Medicine Lodge.

Surviving is his mother, Jan Bertoglio of Medicine Lodge, KS.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert James “Jim” Bertoglio and his brother, James Antone “Tony” Bertoglio.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.  Burial will be private at the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS.

Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Library or the Freedom Gates Boys Ranch in care of the funeral home.
