A Preston woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at K-61 and NE 40th Avenue when she failed to yield and pulled onto K-61 in front of a Freightliner semi.
A Preston woman was injured in a two-vehicle at Natrona on Wednesday afternoon. Melissa McGill, 22 of Preston, was southbound on NE 40th Avenue in a 2008 Pontiac G6 when she failed to yield at the intersection of K-61 and NE 40th Avenue. She pulled onto K-61 to make a left turn and drove in front of a southwestbound Convoy semi truck and trailer on K-61, said Kansas Highway Patrol Master Trooper Mark Crump.
The 2016 Freightliner semi, driven by 45-year-old Brooks Romine, impacted the drivers side of the Pontiac causing it to slide though the intersection to the south and come to a stop facing east in the east ditch on NE 40th Avenue. The semi came to a stop on the shoulder of K-61 facing southwest.
Pratt County EMS transported McGill to Pratt Regional Medical Center. Romine refused treatment.
Dispatch was notified of the accident just after 1 p.m. on Nov. 8.
