A runaway from Pratt and a stolen car were found in Larned.

On Thursday, Jan. 4, at 7:33 a.m. a 2013 Blue Ford Escape was discovered missing from the garage of a residence located in the 900 block of East Fifth Street by the property owner and then reported to the Police.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered the garage door was left open by the husband when he left for work approximately an hour before the vehicle was discovered as missing.

At the time of this report, police officers were in the process of looking for a juvenile male that had been reported as a runaway from the Pratt County Achievement House. The runaway male was entered into the National Crime Information Center missing persons data base as a runaway, according to information from Pratt Police Sgt. Ed Gimpel.

The car was entered into the National Crime Information Center stolen vehicle data base and a Be On the Lookout was sent to all surrounding counties.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, the Pratt Dispatch Center received notification from the Larned Police Department that the car and driver were in the custody of the Larned Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as the male juvenile that had been reported as a runaway from the Pratt County Achievement Place earlier this same date.

The car was released to the owner of the vehicle and the male juvenile was released to custody of the Juvenile Justice Administration.
