PRATT, KANSAS — Luella Ann Holmquist, 79, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1938 in West Union, Minnesota to Merton and Violet (Ensign) Hamlin. On July 28, 1954, she married Harold James Holmquist in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1987.
Luella and Harold moved to Pratt from Kingman in 1962. She attended First Baptist Church in Pratt and was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her ten children, Robert (Annette) Holmquist of Hutchinson; Harold Holmquist Jr. of Osawatomie; Brenda (Jim) Brozek of Haviland; Dennis (Donna) Holmquist of Windom; Dwayne Holmquist of Pratt; Roger Holmquist of Pratt; Delbert Holmquist of Pratt; Danny (Vada) Holmquist of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Sandra Holmquist of Great Bend; and Roy (Bobby) Holmquist of Pratt; two sisters, Beatrice Lorenzen of Riverside, California and Elaine Bryant of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Luella is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; brothers, Mertie Hamlin and Eugene Hamlin; sisters, Dorothy Theel and Iva Belle Edgerton; and great grandsons, Bobby Brozek, Jr. and Jace Brozek.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2018 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
