Delores Violet (Moen) Kemmis was born October 4, 1929 at home near Roslyn, SD.

She was one of ten children. Delores passed away February 9, 2018 at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Ingvald and Agnes Viola (Benson) Moen; and three brothers, Orlin Burdett, Gilman Lyle, and Gary Andrew; and her husband Merton Walter Kemmis.

Delores was a stay-at-home mom until 1963, when she became co-owner/worker of a service station, a trucking company, and the Pizza House in Sidney, Montana and then in 1975 the Blue Moon Nite Club in Plentywood, Montana where she was the bartender. She didn’t have a lot of time for hobbies, but she did like to do crossword puzzles and read. She loved her family and was proud of her Norwegian (100%) heritage, with uff da, being her favorite word, among others.

Delores is survived by her children, Alan (Laura) Kemmis and Bruce Kemmis of Pratt, KS; Kathy (Richard) Munoz of Sidney, MT; Daniel (Sheila) Kemmis of Pratt, KS; and Patti (Mike) Borah of Des Moines, IA; 9 grandchildren – Heidi, Kristina, Heather, Rachel, Darcy, Dustin, Nick, Jessica and Zachariah and 21 great grandchildren: Amaya, Grace, Ashley, Hunter, Anastin, Caleb, Jacob, Alora, Katelyn, Jackson, Cambri, Kacen, Bayley, Bradyn, Caden, Lexi, Halo, Kingstyn, Zoey, Alexander and Zaylin.

She is also survived by five sisters Clarice Waller, Laurel, MT; Ardys (Mervin) Torgerson, Lambert, MT; Lola (Buxbaum) Kemmis, Sidney, MT; Margaret (Don) Ligon, Lambert, MT; and Linda (Lynn) Powers, Sidney, MT; and one brother Kenneth Moen, Sidney, MT.

There will be a memorial service at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Merlyn Lohrke officiating. A graveside memorial service at a later date at Pioneer Cemetery, Sidney, Montana.
