PRATT, KANSAS — Vera Marie Compton, 84, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at her home. She was born August 4, 1933 in Dodge City to William Randolph and Hazen Marie (Price) Stone.  On January 8, 1955, she married Raymon W. Compton at Sun City Baptist Church in Sun City.  He survives.

Vera was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and in her earlier years Business and Professional Women.  She enjoyed Crocheting, cross stitch and playing piano for church.

She is survived by her husband, Raymon; son, Joe Compton of Pratt; daughter, Sharon (Gary) Ward of Pratt; brothers, Doyle (Lana) Stone of Wichita and Lynn (Janice) Stone of Sun City; sisters, Joyce Smith of Lake City, Carolyn (David) Rowland of Pratt, Shirley (Jim) Winborne of Forsyth, Missouri; granddaughters, Elisa, Jodi, Jayme and April; and 14 great grandchildren.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eldon Stone, Jay Stone and Norman Stone; and sister, Glenda Fisher.

Cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the book Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor John Kissell presiding.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Lake City Cemetery, Lake City.
