M. Ernestine Sullivan, 92, died June 26, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Arlington. She lived in Pratt from 1973 to 1981. She was a bookkeeper for the family business, D.J. Sullivan Oil Company of Arlington, and a homemaker.

Glennis Erlene Mall, 93, died June 28 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

Roy Vernon Dargel, 81, died June 23, 2009, in Greensburg. He was born Feb. 19, 1928, the son of Fredrich and Bessie M. Sypher Dargel.

Kenneth R. Peterson, 63, died June 23, 2009, at Texas City, Texas. He was born July 17, 1945, at Sterling. He grew up in the Ellinwood-Great Bend area and lived most of his life in Texas. He was an agent/stenographer with Rock Island/Cotton Belt/Southern Pacific railroads.

Mildred L. Morisse, 91, died June 25, 2009, at Kingman Community Hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1917, at Pratt. A longtime resident of Zenda, she was a homemaker.

Vada Rolfs, 99, died June 22, 2009. She was born Nov. 17, 1909. She was a homemaker and retired elementary school teacher.

Kevin D. Wiltshire, 33, died June 22, 2009, in Stafford. He was born Nov. 4, 1975, in Pratt. He was a Stafford resident for most of his life and was employed at Curtis Cafe and had also worked in construction. 



Barbara Jean Borst, age 70, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at her home in Pratt.  She was born Oct. 23, 1938, at Anthony,  the daughter of Everett V. and Marie Evelyn Dunlavey Darr. 

JoElla Courtney, age 87, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Lakewood Senior Living Center in Pratt. She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Thomas Earl and Berta Lee Hunter Box. On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Richard Scott Courtney at Hutchinson. He preceded her in death in August of 1989.

Guy E. Geesling, age 84, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Turon Community Church with the Rev. Steve Gill presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Larrison Funeral Home in Turon.

Dana M. Young, 57, died June 6, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 9, 1951, the daughter of Edward and Jerry Kidd Bond. She worked as a para at Obee School, Hutchinson.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside interment service at 11 a.m. June 20 for Wanga A. Swander, 93, who died Dec. 9, 2008, at the Belmont Vista Senior Community Assisted Living Residence in Belmont, Calif. She will be buried alongside her husband Harley and other Swander family members in Maud Cemetery, Cunningham.

Lena Hawkins, 97, died June 14, 2009. She had worked at the Greensburg State Bank as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She moved to Clinton, Okla., in 1997, to be close to her daughter.

Carl Simpson, 96, died June 15, 2009, at Harper Hospital, Harper. He was born March 19, 1913, in rural Centerview. A resident of Harper, he was a retired farmer and stockman.

Marsha D. Reimer, age 64, went to be with our Lord on June 10, 2009, at South Wind Hospice in Pratt.  She was born on Sept. 14, 1944, in Newton, to Evelyn Fern, who survives, and Marvin Taylor Mellott, who died in 1967.
