Bethel netters

fall in semis

TOPEKA — The Bethel College women’s tennis team fell to McPherson College 5-0 Friday in the semifinals of the KCAC post-season tournament at the Wood Valley Genesis Racquet Club in Topeka.

McPherson swept the doubles play. The meet was ended after the Bulldogs won the first two singles matches to clinch the meet.

McPherson, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, moves to the finals today. The Bulldogs improves to 8-2.

Bethel ends the season 6-8. The Threshers have no seniors listed on the roster with four juniors, a sophomore and three freshmen. All seven BC players are Kansas natives.

Hesston youth

HESSTON — The Hesston Youth Track Meet will be May 6 at Hobbs Stadium on the HHS campus.

Field events begin at 9 a.m., followed by running events at 10:40 a.m.

The meet is open to youth ages Pre-K to sixth grade.
