The Skyline cross country team ran at Larned on Thursday in a meet divided into fr/so and jr/sr divisions rather than the usual varsity/jv designations.

The Skyline cross country team ran at Larned on Thursday in a meet divided into fr/so and jr/sr divisions rather than the usual varsity/jv designations. Team scores were based upon top finishes among all races. Skyline’s boys took 5th and the girls took 7th out of a dozen or so schools in attendance.

The T-Birds had some nice individual finishes. Erik Ghumm, Jackson Wallace and Katelynn McGraw each had a top ten finish in his/her event.

"(Assistant coach) Mike (Neifert) and I were both very pleased with the kids performances yesterday," said SHS head coach Lynette Freeman."The running conditions they were presented with yesterday we're not ideal but they all did very well.”

“The course was the toughest one they have seen so far and there are times that were better than they were last week,” she added. “The team as a whole and individually is getting stronger each week and I am already getting excited to watch the post season meets!"
