Pratt volleyball lost to Nickerson and Halstead at home on Tuesday

Nickerson's volleyball team entered the triangular at Pratt Tuesday with a top-5 4Aii state ranking, and they did nothing to tarnish their reputation- dropping the host Greenbacks in straight sets 12-25, 16-25. PHS was also downed by Halstead in a tight 3-setter: 25-23, 21-25, 23-25. Nickerson defeated Halstead to sweep the triangular.

Lady Green got the evening off to a good start, winning the first set with Halstead. But it was the last set they would win on the evening. The Dragons rebounded to take the final two sets.

Kaitlyn Rasmussen is still absent from the Greenback rotation and she was joined on the sidelines by Jenna Fincham.

In the first set against Nickerson, the Panthers' size and athleticism worked in their favor as they handled Lady Green rather easily. In the second set, PHS hung with the talented Nickersons for 2/3 of the game. The Frogs were down only a couple of points as the game headed into the final stages.

From that point on, however, Nickerson was able to attack very effectively- especially from the back line- and pulled away for the win.

Pratt falls to 16-12 with the losses. Things get no easier for Lady Green as they travel to Kingman next Tuesday to take on the top-ranked 32-1 Eagles.
