The Skyline cheerleaders took 4th in class 2A in the recent KSHSAA GameDay competition.

The Skyline cheerleaders fared well in the recent GameDay competition in Topeka sponsored by KSHSAA and VarsitySpirit.

The T-Birds claimed 4th in the 2A classification, scoring 161 points in preliminaries. That score placed them in the top 6 and enabled them to advance to finals. The Thunderbirds' 69.5 score in the finals allowed them to pocket 4th place medals.

Skyline was only 1/2 point away from third place Lyndon (70). Ellis (80.75) claimed the 2A title and Washington County (72.75) were runners-up.

Skyline's cheerleaders were sponsored at the event by Melissa Jacobs, substituting for Kim Lee who had a longstanding prior commitment. "These cheerleaders represented Skyline so well and I was so impressed by the smooth and positive atmosphere that Varsity and KSHSAA put together for the inaugural game day cheer competition," Jacobs said. "I can’t wait to assist with next year’s prep. It was great to see other squads from around the state with varying numbers compared to our squad."

Representing Skyline in the event were juniors Madison Adams, Abby Ailstock, Kayley Cook and Kami McComb and freshmen Kyrian Keeling and Mackenzie Wright.

With all of Skyline's cheerleaders being underclassmen, it seems safe to say that next year's squad will be a force to be reckoned with at the 2nd annual GameDay competition.
